Everything Mote Desktop does

Mote keeps Philips Hue lights, rooms, zones, and scenes available while you use your PC. Everyday control and PC Sync are free. Mote Pro adds multiple bridges and Sync Boxes, advanced widgets, custom dashboard layouts, global shortcuts, and automations, and all of it is free to try for 14 days.

Free and Mote Pro

Both tiers share the same Hue control. Pro expands the workflow rather than holding back everyday functionality. Every Pro feature is free to try for 14 days from the moment you pair your first bridge, then a one-time purchase through the Microsoft Store rather than a subscription.

Automations

Lights that follow what you are doing on the PC, and put themselves back afterwards.

  • On-air light. Chosen lights turn a color, a white, or a scene while any app uses your microphone or camera, then go back when the call ends.
  • Stepping away. When the PC locks or sleeps, lights turn off, dim, or set a scene, and return when you unlock it.
  • Focus sessions. Pick a rhythm, lights, and a vibe; the lights keep time through focus blocks and breaks.
  • Presence. When every chosen phone has left the home Wi-Fi for ten minutes, lights turn off; when someone is back, a scene comes on.
  • Calendar. Add a Google, Outlook, or iCloud calendar by its iCal address, and lights change around matching events.

When two automations want the same light, a priority order you arrange decides, and PC Sync can be part of it. Every automation can be set up on Free; running one needs Mote Pro or the 14-day trial. Automations run on your PC; a calendar is read from the address you give it. The privacy policy says exactly what each one reads.
